Energy Star
What is the ENERGY STAR? It's a rating that the US Departments of Energy and Environmental Protection have developed to label products that meet strict energy efficiency standards. The idea is to make it easier for you to find the most energy-efficient choices when shopping.
You'll find the ENERGY STAR on many home products, but also on equipment you use every day at work, like computers, copiers, fax machines and more. The most important thing to keep in mind about ENERGY STAR, is that it means you save energy without sacrificing product quality, features or styles. In most cases, ENERGY STAR rated products perform just as well (sometimes better) than their energy-hogging peers.
What OneThing can you do? If you have a choice, always use the product with the ENERGY STAR label. And make sure your employer or the purchasing department knows to always look for the ENERGY STAR on new equipment.
