Ever drive by an office building after hours and see all the lights still on? Ever think, "boy what a waste!" If your company doesn't have a specific policy against it, make sure you turn off all the lights in your area before you leave at night, and encourage your coworkers to do the same. That's OneThing that can really make a difference.

Also, be mindful of how much light you personally use during the day. If you're lucky enough to have that office with the window, you may not need as much artificial light. And when you leave common rooms like bathrooms, kitchens and storage rooms, be sure to turn off the lights.

If you treat the lighting in your office like you treat the lighting in your home, your whole workplace can be far more energy efficient.
