CT Clean Energy Communities Program

Eligibility: Municipalities
Incentive: Designation as a "CT Clean Energy Community"; free 1 kW solar panel photovaltaic system.
Program Features: Connecticut municipalities who: 1.Commit to SmartPower's 20% by 2010 clean energy campaign; 2.Sign on to the CTCleanEnergyOptions program with either: 10% of a community's households, 100 residential customers, a commercial or industrial customer with 1 gigawatt-hour clean energy demand, or, 100 customers from a regional school district; 3.Commit to allocating 100% of savings derived from the 1kW system to additional community purchases of clean power; are eligible for “Connecticut Clean Energy Community” designation and qualify for a 1 kilowatt solar panel photovoltaic system. The program is a partnership involving the Connecticut Clean Energy Fund, SmartPower, Community Energy, Sterling Planet, the Department of Public Utility Control, and the Office of Consumer Counsel.

Solar photovoltaic (PV) Rebate

Eligibility: Residential; Single or multi family (up to 4 units) residences in CT; Nonprofit and govenmental organizations. Business and Developers.
Incentive: Rebate; $5 for the first 5 kW, $4.30 for the next 5 kW; The current solar rebate offered by CCEF is based on the design efficiency of your system.
Program Features: The Connecticut Clean Energy Fund (CCEF) is providing rebates of $5.00 per watt (maximum $25,000) for the installation of new, approved, grid-connected, PV systems. Under the CCEF program, cash Rebates are only available for PV systems purchased through an Eligible Installer who is authorized to apply for rebates for approved systems on Connecticut residences. Rebates must be passed on, in full, to customers. Eligible Installers may not require customers to pay the full costs and then wait for reimbursement from CCEF
