Bus
CT Transit, the provider of most bus services throughout Connecticut, carries nearly 27 million passengers a year. Hundreds of buses run throughout our major cities and into surrounding towns on regular
routes. One of those buses even runs on hydrogen fuel cells instead of gas. It's one of only a handful in the whole country.
If you live in the city, you may already make buses a part of your transportation life. You can usually find a route that takes you from your home to almost any place you work, play or shop. When you consider that it's these shorter trips by car that use the most gas, the bus makes a lot of sense.
Here in Connec
ticut, a lot of our population lives in suburban towns just outside of the major cities. Many of these towns have convenient bus stops, either near your home or near a park and ride lot. OneThing you can do is consider taking the bus into the cities for work or shopping. Every time you leave your car at home, you're saving energy, saving money and protecting the environment.
Star Shuttle
OneThing cool that the city of Hartford has done is introduce a mini-bus that travels throughout downtown Hartford, stopping at many of the popular restaurants, attractions and hotels. It's a no-brainer when it comes to getting around the city. And, did we mention, it's absolutely free to ride?!
