Train

Trains are a great alternative to planes or your own car for getting around the state, the region and the whole country. Trains are also ideal for getting to work and are a way of life for thousands of commuters in Connecticut. Commuter trains remove cars from the road to save barrels of energy and remove tons of pollutants from the air.

MetroNorth

Metro-North operates an extensive train service in New York and Connecticut. The New Haven Line runs 72 miles from New Haven to Grand Central Terminal in New York City, with three branch lines serving New Canaan, Danbury and Waterbury. For the tens of thousands of Connecticut residents who work in New York, MetroNorth is a great alternative to driving into the city every day. OneThing you can do is consider MetroNorth any time you're taking a trip to the big city. Or anytime you're traveling between New Haven and Stamford within our state.
